Job summary

AltaMed is seeking a seasoned Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer to lead the organization’s compliance program and privacy initiatives. The role reports to the CEO/President and interfaces with the Board.

Candidates should have extensive Medicare/Medicaid experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to build a culture of compliance across a large healthcare system. The CCPO will direct regulatory activities, ensure HIPAA/privacy adherence, and develop training and oversight for all

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree or JD preferred.
• 12+ years of compliance program experience in managed health care or insurance with government programs experience.
• Minimum 5 years of supervision or lead responsibility.
• Experience in a large, multi-faceted healthcare organization with a matrixed reporting structure preferred.
• Certification in healthcare compliance preferred (CPC, CHC, CPA, CIA, or CCEP).
• Knowledge of state and federal information privacy laws.
• Proven record leading and managing compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive compliance and privacy program.
• Oversee compliance with federal and state regulators (CMS, DMHC, DHCS) and contracted plans.
• Direct regulatory compliance across administrative, clinical, and operations.
• Collaborate with the CEO/President and Board to achieve compliance objectives.
• Develop training, communicate policies, and oversee audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
