Job description

Our client, a leading nonprofit mental and behavioral health provider, seeks a Chief Compliance Officer / Privacy Officer to lead agency-wide compliance and privacy initiatives. This executive role ensures adherence to laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards, while fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead core compliance areas : incident management, audits, risk management, grievances, CARF accreditation, and HIPAA / privacy.

Develop and execute the corporate compliance plan and annual risk-based monitoring strategy.

Serve as Privacy Officer, ensuring HIPAA compliance and PHI protection.

Oversee investigations into potential misconduct and ensure timely resolution.

Maintain and update the Code of Conduct and agency compliance policies.

Manage internal audits, develop corrective action plans, and deliver staff training.

Coordinate agency-wide accreditation and regulatory readiness efforts.

Engage senior leadership and board committees in ongoing compliance oversight.

Operate the Compliance Hotline and ensure non-retaliatory reporting practices.

Qualifications :

National compliance certification required.

5+ years in compliance, QA, or program auditing; nonprofit healthcare experience preferred.

Familiarity with OMH, OPWDD, OCFS, and ACS regulations.

Strong leadership, investigative, policy, and project management skills.
