Job summary

Semtech, located in San Jose/Bay Area, California, is transforming from a product-centric operator into a customer-centric growth company. The Head of Communications will build the function from the ground up, owning the CEO and CCO platforms, brand narrative, and the internal narrative that drives employee alignment through the transformation.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role reporting to the CEO and CCO with an enterprise-wide mandate to elevate communications across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate and executive communications.
• Proven experience as trusted communications counsel to a CEO or C-suite.
• Experience leading a communications function or enterprise program.
• Track record guiding a rebrand or major transformation.
• Hands-on earnings-cycle experience with a CFO and Investor Relations.
• Strong writing across speeches, bylines, and all-hands content.

Responsibilities

• Own executive communications for the CEO and CCO — earnings narrative, prepared remarks, investor and board messaging, and all-hands content.
• Build messaging architecture that ladders every business unit, product, and regional story into one Semtech narrative; lead discipline across channels.
• Stand up internal communications as a function — cadence, channels, leader toolkits, and feedback loops.
• Launch and run an executive thought-leadership program (keynotes, bylines, analyst briefings) that positions Semtech's leaders as authorities.
• Build cross-functional relationships and develop the communications team and agency model over time.
• Develop and maintain crisis/issues playbooks and spokesperson protocol.
