Job summary

texmed is seeking an experienced senior communications and marketing leader to shape and deliver a unified communications strategy in Austin. The role will oversee publications, digital media, and public relations, working with executive leadership to advocate for physicians and patients.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and a track record in strategic communications, strong writing and editorial judgment, and familiarity with the Texas legislative process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and several years (e.g., 10 years) work experience.
• Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations, and marketing program.
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
• Must have exceptional writing experience and editorial judgement.
• Must have familiarity with the Texas legislative process.

Responsibilities

• Develop communications and marketing strategies using analytics.
• Oversee all communications and publications (print, digital, web).
• Oversee digital media strategies and social media campaigns.
• Manage public relations strategies with leadership.
• Prepare materials for policymakers and advocates.
• Write speeches for TMA leaders.
• Monitor divisional budget for program areas.
• Lead cross-divisional branding and marketing campaigns.
