Fruit Street Health delivers the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program via telehealth and live group video conferencing on Zoom with registered dietitians. The program is designed to help individuals with prediabetes to avoid developing Type 2 diabetes by making diet and lifestyle changes. The company was recently approved as a Medicare and Medicaid providers and seeks a Chief Commercial Officer to help scale its relationships with referring physicians and Medicare Advantage plans. This individual will report directly to the CEO & Founder and be a key member of the business. Position Overview
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving Fruit Street Health’s growth strategy, revenue generation, and market expansion. This leader will own the commercial function, with a focus on physician referral partnerships, payer relationships (including Medicare Advantage), and investor engagement. The CCO will work closely with the CEO to execute on strategic priorities and scale the company’s impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to expand physician referrals into Fruit Street’s programs.
- Build strong relationships with physician practices, health systems, and physician groups.
- Oversee outreach, education, and engagement initiatives to drive patient enrollment.
- Lead efforts to secure contracts with Medicare Advantage plans and other payers.
- Articulate Fruit Street’s value proposition to executives at health plans and provider groups.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and reimbursement structures that drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Investor Relations & Growth Capital
- Partner with the CEO in engaging current and prospective investors, including physician investors and institutional capital.
- Support fundraising efforts with presentations, financial modeling, and due diligence coordination.
- Represent the company in investor meetings, conferences, and strategic partnership discussions.
- Commercial Leadership & Strategy
- Own the company’s go-to-market strategy across referral, payer, and investor channels.
- Develop KPIs and performance metrics to track commercial success.
- Build and manage a high-performing commercial team (sales, business development, partnerships).
- Collaborate with product, operations, and clinical teams to ensure commercial alignment with company goals.
- Serve as a close thought partner to the CEO on all commercial, strategic, and fundraising initiatives.
- Contribute to overall corporate strategy, board discussions, and major decision-making.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of experience in healthcare business development, sales, or payer/provider partnerships.
- Proven track record of building physician referral networks and/or selling to Medicare Advantage and commercial health plans.
- Experience in investor relations, capital raising, or supporting CEO-led fundraising efforts.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with physicians, payers, and investors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
- Background in digital health, population health, or chronic disease prevention preferred.
