Job summary

DSA Inc. seeks a Chief/Cloud Architect to lead the technical architecture for secure AWS IL5 operations, tenant isolation, capacity planning, cloud modernization, and trade-space decisions.

This role will serve as the Government's primary technical counterpart for ensuring the solution remains secure, scalable, supportable, cost-aware, and aligned to mission growth. The candidate will design and govern secure tenant isolation, support RMF and DoD security requirements, and provide leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 10+ years of enterprise systems or cloud architecture experience.
• 5+ years supporting biometric/intelligence/high-availability mission systems.
• Experience with AWS IL5, multi-AZ architectures, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience designing or operating AWS environments for DoD/federal mission systems.
• RMF/DoD cloud security requirements, IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and logging.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture strategy for AWS IL5 environments supporting operational, test, development, training, and modernization needs.
• Design and govern secure tenant isolation using account boundaries, network segmentation, identity controls, encryption, logging, and centralized ingress/egress protections.
• Support capacity planning, performance engineering, resilience, backup and recovery, environment provisioning, and cloud cost optimization.
• Provide technical leadership for modernization trade studies, architecture reviews, technology refresh, and cloud migration planning.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, systems engineering, and mission application teams to ensure secure, supportable architecture decisions.
• Develop architecture documentation, diagrams, decision records, and Government-facing technical recommendations.

Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture strategy for AWS IL5 environments supporting operational, test, development, training, and modernization needs.
• Design and govern secure tenant isolation using account boundaries, network segmentation, identity controls, encryption, logging, and centralized ingress/egress protections.
• Support capacity planning, performance engineering, resilience, backup and recovery, environment provisioning, and cloud cost optimization.
• Provide technical leadership for modernization trade studies, architecture reviews, technology refresh, and cloud migration planning.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, systems engineering, and mission application teams to ensure secure, supportable architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in enterprise systems architecture, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or secure systems modernization.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting biometric, intelligence, or high-availability mission systems.
• Experience with cARMY, AC2SP, ECMA, SCCA, IL5, IL6, multi-AZ architectures, tenant hosting, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience designing or operating AWS environments for DoD, Army, IC, or federal mission systems.
• Experience with RMF, DoD cloud security requirements, identity and access management, network segmentation, logging, encryption, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to translate mission needs into secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable architecture.
• DoD 8570/8140-aligned certification
• Active Secret-level clearance.

Desired Qualifications and Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional strongly preferred.
• CISSP preferred.
• AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or AWS Security Specialty desired.

Status

Pending award; this position is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, funding availability, and completion of applicable DSA recruiting, security, and onboarding requirements.

Salary Pay Range

$120,000 - $150,000 USD
