The CNO must have knowledge of current theoretical approaches to delivering quality nursing care; strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts; current leadership, management, and developmental performance improvement concepts; and the ability to participate in developing and implementing positive strategies to address opportunities for improving nursing care.
