Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer for its New Kensington, PA operations. This onsite role directs all construction engineering for large highway projects, issuing technical direction and signing/sealing authority for plans and calculations.

You will lead engineering teams, coordinate with project managers and regulatory bodies, and ensure compliance with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and OSHA standards. PE licensed engineers with 10+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with focus on steel and concrete structural design and geotechnical engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 10+ years of experience in heavy highway or transportation infrastructure construction.
• Experience leading engineering teams or departments on major DOT/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct all construction engineering functions for large-scale highway infrastructure projects.
• Develop and authorize temporary works and engineering solutions (cofferdams, formwork, shoring, temporary supports, demolition sequencing).
