What we’re looking for:

We seek a dynamic Chief Estimator who can lead our estimation team and drive project success, particularly in Heavy Highway construction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project estimation and experience managing take-offs, procurement, and bid evaluations.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing all estimates, including bid management and execution.
2. Preparing take-offs from construction documents and understanding project scope to bid accurately using state and federal specifications.
3. Obtaining quotes from subcontractors and vendors for materials and labor.
4. Developing estimates covering material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs throughout a project's lifecycle.
5. Maintaining resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and regulations.
6. Participating in departmental meetings and reviewing bidding strategies.
7. Communicating contract plans and terms to stakeholders.
8. Collaborating with project management to oversee financial aspects of projects.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with HCSS, AutoCAD, P6, and estimating/scheduling software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Knowledge of civil construction phases.
• Strong relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors.
• Field experience and strong contract and plan reading skills.
