Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited is seeking a senior analytical laboratory leader in Lexington, MA. The role oversees US and Japan labs across modalities, ensuring GMP method performance, data integrity, and resource planning.

The incumbent will drive technology adoption, risk-based approaches, and a high-performance culture. The position requires 20+ years in pharma/biotech with leadership of GMP labs, and a strong foundation in AQbD, automation, and cross-functional collaboration with QA,

Qualifications

BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related field (PhD preferred).
20+ years in pharma/biotech with leadership of GMP analytical laboratories.
Experience leading GMP lab operations, resourcing and delivery in regulatory contexts.
Strong understanding of AQbD, risk-based validation/verification and method lifecycle management.
Experience coordinating with QA, QC, Regulatory and IT for analytics and automation.

Responsibilities

Accountable for operations, performance, compliance, and resourcing of the US-based Analytical LCM Central Technology Laboratory and the Japan lab (vaccines testing).
Lead a multi-manager lab organization, building capability and an inclusive high-performance culture.
Interface with portfolio leads, modality leads, MSAT, and IT to align on prioritization and resource planning.
Oversee development, transfer and troubleshooting across platforms; ensure data integrity and inspection readiness.
Drive adoption of new analytical technologies and digital tools within GMP frameworks.
