Job summary

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute seeks a Director for the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences (DCVS) in Bethesda, MD. The Director will provide scientific vision, strategic leadership, and management for the Division, reporting to the NHLBI Director as a senior member of the Institute's leadership team.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD or equivalent in a field relevant to the Division's portfolio.
• Demonstrated leadership, management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in setting priorities, planning, and analyzing program objectives.
• Ability to manage financial and human resources within a large biomedical research portfolio.
• Mentoring and outreach to diverse communities affected by cardiovascular diseases.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific vision and strategic leadership for DCVS and advise NHLBI leadership.
• Oversee budget development, management, and allocation for the Division and its programs.
• Foster collaboration across NIH and other agencies to advance cardiovascular research.
