Job summary

CoinDesk seeks an exceptional Head of Blockchain Security to own the end-to-end security posture of its blockchain infrastructure, custody systems, and smart contracts. You will operate as a technical authority and strategic partner to internal teams, founders, and security partners, designing scalable security frameworks and leading audits across multi-chain environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cyber security with 5+ years in blockchain and smart contract security.
• Hands-on with Solidity, Rust, Move security assessments and audits.
• Strong background in Linux, cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with threat modeling, OWASP Top 10 and security design reviews.
• Ability to communicate risks concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep-dive architectural reviews and security audits of smart contracts (Solidity, Rust, Move).
• Oversee external third-party audits for high-complexity releases.
• Produce prioritized technical risk reports for founders and leadership.
• Build and maintain blockchain monitoring, alerting, and automated detection systems.
• Design automated emergency exit workflows to protect assets.
• Assess custody, treasury and third-party vendor infrastructures.
