Job summary

Skyryse is seeking a Chief Engineer to own the architectural vision and execution of the fly-by-wire system, coordinating software, hardware, and flight operations to meet safety and regulatory requirements. You will drive certification efforts for SkyOS on the R66, working with the CEO, VP of Engineering, and VP of Certification.

You will lead cross-functional planning, manage risks, and defend design trade-offs with data-driven decisions, while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in full-cycle engineering
• Experience with aerospace component qualification
• Experience with aviation certification evidence requirements
• Preferred advanced degrees and rotorcraft/avionics experience may be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project planning across engineering disciplines
• Coordinate cross-functional execution for development, qualification, and certification
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early and escalate when needed
• Develop and maintain the architectural vision for fly-by-wire systems
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specs and design allocations
• Make data-informed design decisions and defend trade-offs
• Review technical documentation and test plans
• Collaborate with certification to support regulatory evidence
• Act as primary technical contact for leadership, partners, suppliers and regulators
