Job summary

HelloFresh is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead GenAI and agentic engineering across its Growth Mega Alliance. You will define architectural direction, drive AI-native workflows, and mentor senior engineers while partnering with multiple brands and markets to raise the technical bar.

You will own the long-term architecture for real-time personalization, experimentation at scale, and cross-pillar data integrity, ensuring reliability, latency, and observability at global scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, 5+ years at principal level in a high-growth cloud-native environment.
• Expert in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven patterns (Kafka).
• Deep AWS experience. Proficient in Go, Kotlin, Python, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on architectural reviews and solving bottlenecks directly.
• Experience with instrumentation, data paths, and signal quality.

Responsibilities

• Own GenAI strategy and build AI-native workflows across five pillars.
• Lead long-term Growth Platform architecture with real-time personalization and data integrity.
• Define experimentation strategy and scalable data-driven decision making.
• Set multi-year technical vision and align with cross-organization programs.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and promote engineering excellence.
