Position Overview:

Humboldt Park Health, a 200-bed community hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Chief Anesthesiologist. The hospital offers a range of specialties including emergency medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, neurology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, family practice, pediatrics, podiatry, and behavioral health. The role involves overseeing anesthesia services in a setting that values strong departmental relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department
  • Manage the medical care of patients undergoing surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent
  • Discuss anesthesia options and risks with patients
  • Administer anesthesia, monitor patient physiological status, and manage emergence
  • Perform clinical interventions as needed

Qualifications:

  • M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification and licensure in the state of Illinois

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $500,000
  • Sign-on bonus: $50,000
  • Chief Stipend: $30,000
