Job Description

Position: Chief Analyst, Data Center

Omdia (part of Informa TechTarget) is seeking an experienced Chief Analyst with deep expertise in data center technologies, infrastructure and market dynamics to deliver actionable insights to our global client base.

The successful candidate will lead comprehensive research coverage of the global data center market, including infrastructure, hardware, software and emerging technologies. They will contribute to, develop and maintain authoritative market forecasts, sizing models and competitive landscape analyses, and identify and analyze key trends shaping the data center industry, such as hyperscale deployments, edge computing, sustainability initiatives and AI infrastructure requirements.

The role also involves presenting research at industry conferences, client briefings, webinars and providing expert commentary to media and industry publications. Strategic consulting and advisory services for clients are another key part of the role, providing insight on data center investment decisions, technology roadmaps and market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver insightful research: contribute to and create high quality research in reports, trackers, forecasts and presentations. Develop and test hypotheses to challenge existing beliefs and provide unique insight.
• Market high-level industry expertise: use expertise to define and expand research area, market expertise at senior level within clients and prospects, respond to market events and offer up-to-date opinions.
• Build and maintain client relationships: maintain and extend your network of client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor.
• Ensure effective client management: build and manage ongoing relationships, represent Omdia and Informa TechTarget, support sales, marketing, product management and PR teams, participate in client-facing meetings.
• Expand strategic planning involvement: offer insight to planning meetings, work with Practice Leader and Research Directors to drive direction and strategy, develop customer-based POV for new products and advisory services.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of professional experience in the data center ecosystem, either as an industry analyst or within the wider ecosystem.
• Solid technical understanding and insight into the data center ecosystem.
• Quantitative research expertise, building, maintaining and enhancing market forecasts and trackers.
• Excellent written communication skills, able to synthesize complex ideas.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, personable and confident.
• Ability to build and enhance industry contacts and opinion formation.
• Ability to quickly and coherently identify and communicate critical issues impacting the commercial performance of Omdia's vendor clients.
• Experience working with sales and marketing teams to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities.
• Proven track record of managing a workload to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Cultural awareness, working with global clients and virtual team environment.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $170k - $190k based on experience.
