Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Chief Administrative Officer for Pathology to lead administrative and operational functions across laboratories and outreach programs.

The CAO provides budgets oversight, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and leadership development, coordinating with Hospital leadership and the Department Director to advance patient care and academic missions. This senior role requires an advanced degree and 10+ years of leadership experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including 5-7 years of management experience with significant business impact.
• Current or recent experience in academic medical center, hospital, and laboratory medicine strongly preferred.
• Leadership experience in a complex, matrixed health care setting.
• Direct experience as a certified laboratory professional is preferred (i.e. ASCP)

Responsibilities

• Oversees financial performance, regulatory compliance, and service agreements.
• Provides leadership and management oversight to maintain quality and turnaround times.
• Develops strategic plans and budgets for labs across JHH/JHM.
• Fosters diverse teams and professional development.
• Collaborates with stakeholders across Johns Hopkins Medicine.
