Job summary

Clover Health is seeking a Chief Actuary to lead and evolve the actuarial function by combining actuarial expertise with modern AI-enabled workflows. You will steer pricing, forecasting, reserving, and medical economics while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with Finance, Clinical, Growth, Operations, Product, and Data Science to embed insights in strategic decisions and drive enterprise performance. The role emphasizes transparency, scalability, and leadership.

Qualifications

• A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with strong leadership experience.
• Significant leadership in Medicare Advantage actuarial functions (pricing, reserving, forecasting, bid development).
• Experience deploying AI workflows in actuarial contexts with governance and explainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise actuarial function across pricing, forecasting, reserving, and medical economics.
• Modernize the function with AI, automation, and scalable analytics infrastructure.
• Build AI-enabled workflows with governance and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee annual Medicare Advantage bid strategy and pricing decisions.
• Ensure actuarial opinions and reserve adequacy, including transitions from external partners.
• Provide timely financial insights through forecasting and experience analysis.
• Partner with Finance to strengthen forecasting, planning, capital management, and performance.
• Lead and scale a high-performing actuarial organization.
• Embed actuarial insights in strategic decisions across Finance, Clinical, Growth, Data Science, and Engineering.
