About the Role

The Bartender is responsible for serving drinks, preparing cocktails, and creating a welcoming environment for customers in the bar. The role requires an engaging personality, knowledge of drink recipes, adherence to portion control guidelines, and compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations. The bartender must also follow alcohol service laws, maintain safe and sound operations, and handle minors and intoxicated guests responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Be present at the bar at all times.
• Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology.
• Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine specials, and merchandising.
• Display knowledge of liquor laws.
• Display knowledge of third‑party liability.
• Maintain work areas clean and organized.
• Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner.
• Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Follow all internal audit procedures.
• Clean bar, bar walk‑ins and liquor storage areas as assigned.
• Set lounge and hors d’oeuvre tables, as assigned.
• Stockbars at wells as assigned.
• Attend required meetings.
• Balance bank and daily receipts.
• Check guests for proper identification.
• Detect and act upon customer inebriation as trained.
• Fill requisitions to par levels.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross‑training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; mixology courses and certifications are preferred.
• Previous experience as a bartender in a full‑service restaurant or bar.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with bar customers and resort associates.
• Relevant certifications for food handling & serving alcohol; any state‑required licensing.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Computer proficiency to use resort’s point‑of‑sale system.

Compensation

$6.00 per hour (Actual compensation may vary by skill set, years of experience, certifications, and location).
