Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring a chicken catcher in Tenaha, Texas. You will be responsible for catching birds and placing them into cages while strictly following animal welfare guidelines and proper handling techniques.

The shift runs 6:00 am to 3:00 pm with overtime as needed; pay is up to $26/hour. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K contributions, and a tuition assistance program to support your family’s higher education.

• Wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and wear PPE (Safety glasses, safety vest, gloves optional, arm sleeves optional).
• Perform routine stretches before starting daily duties.
• Walk the house (bed the birds).
• Wait for cage to be set on blocks.
• Open cage door.
• Catch correct amount of birds.
• Load birds in cage one hand at a time.
• Repeat process until cage is full.
• After proper amount of birds placed in cage, shut the cage door.

CATCHER

As a chicken catcher, you will need to catch certain amount of birds and know the proper placement techniques with birds being put into the cages.

Pay: Up to $26/hour
