Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a chicken catcher in Texas. You will catch birds and place them into cages, following strict safety and animal welfare guidelines.

The role requires PPE usage and precise counting of birds loaded per cage, with work hours from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and overtime as needed. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K contributions, and a tuition assistance program for you or dependents.

Qualifications

• Acquire and wear required PPE (safety glasses, safety vest, gloves optional, arm sleeves optional).
• Follow daily safety procedures and stretches before starting duties.

Responsibilities

• Catch correct amount of birds and load them into cages.
• Load birds in cage one hand at a time and ensure cage is full.
• Shut cage door once the required number of birds have been placed.
• Maintain proper technique to protect animal welfare and avoid injuries.

Job description

CATCHER

As a chicken catcher, you will need to catch certain amount of birds and know the proper placement techniques with birds being put into the cages.

Expected Results

• To insure animal welfare guidelines are followed
• Count amount of birds loaded into the cages

Description Of Activities

• Acquire and put on all required PPE (Safety glasses, safety vest, gloves (optional), arm sleeves (optional)).
• Perform routine stretches before starting daily duties.
• Walk the house (bed the birds)
• Wait for cage to be set on blocks
• Open cage door
• Catch correct amount of birds
• Load birds in cage one hand at a time.
• Repeat process until cage is full.
• After proper amount of birds placed in cage, shut the cage door

Up to $26/hour

Hours

6:00 am - 3:00 pm, overtime as needed
