Job summary

Aviagen is seeking candidates for the Hatchery Service Team to perform chick handling, quality checks, and packaging duties at the hatchery. You will build boxes for transport, label orders, and transfer eggs between trolleys while maintaining welfare and hygiene standards.

Roles require reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety and PPE. Training on equipment and biosecurity practices will be provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle moderate to physical work—pushing and pulling trolleys up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to complete repetitive work and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
• Proven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effort.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check & Grade Chicks to the Quality Standard.
• Build boxes for chick transport and label orders.
• Manual handling of eggs and transfer between trolleys.
• Ensure equipment is in good order and stocks are available.
• Maintain chick/egg welfare and follow hygiene protocols.
• Follow PPE rules and accident/near-miss reporting procedures.
• Adhere to biosecurity standards at all times.
