Perdue Foods is seeking a Chick Delivery Driver to safely transport and deliver broiler chicks to contract growers, ensuring timely and excellent condition upon arrival. The role emphasizes animal welfare, safe driving, and dependable service across routes primarily in the southeast U.S.

The base rate is $26.43 per hour with overtime opportunities and a competitive benefits package including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, and more.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience.
• Reading, writing and math skills.
• Class A Commercial driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chick transport vehicles to receive up to 115,200 newly hatched chicks.
• Ensure environmental requirements of temperature and air flow are within specs prior to loading.
• Navigate a safe and cost-efficient route to Perdue contract farms, located primarily in North and South Carolina, but could be throughout the southeast region of the US.
• Perform routine, minor maintenance and sanitation of transportation vehicles.
• Monitor, record, and report on farm conditions at the time of delivery.
• Maintain FMCSA safe driving requirements, including but not limited to Hours of Service and Driver’s Logs.
