Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care Maywood is seeking caring CHHAs to provide personal care and companionship in clients' homes. You will support independence, follow nurse care plans, assist with mobility and daily activities, and transport clients to appointments.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CHHA certification in New Jersey.
• Experience providing personal care and assisting with daily living activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and families.
• Access to reliable transportation to visit client homes.
• Read, write and communicate in English to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and companionship to clients in their homes.
• Encourage independence and empower clients to maintain it.
• Follow care plans created by Registered Nurses and maintain safe living environments.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and positioning.
• Help with medications reminders, meals, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of care delivered.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies and guidelines.

Your Duties:

• Offer personal care, assist with daily living activities, and provide companionship to clients in their homes
• Encourage and empower clients to maintain their independence to the fullest extent possible
• Adhere to care plans crafted by our Registered Nurses and contribute to a safe and comfortable living environment
• Provide support for mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Assist clients with medication reminders, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments or errands
• Maintain accurate and timely records of the care delivered
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies and guidelines

What You Bring:

• Valid Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in New Jersey
• Demonstrated experience in providing personal care and assisting with daily living activities
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering top‑notch care
• Strong communication skills and an ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
• Access to reliable transportation for visiting client homes

Additional Requirements:

• Drivers License, State ID or Passport
• Recent physical examination and PPD (tuberculosis) test within the past 12 months
• Proof of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccination
• Valid Social Security Number (SSN) and/or valid Immigration Documents (if applicable)

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform job duties.
