Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital’s Congestive Heart Failure Unit in Hartford, CT, is seeking a registered nurse for the 12-hour night shift. The 32-bed unit is nationally recognized as a Center Of Excellence for Heart Failure.

You will provide specialized care to patients with congestive heart failure, monitor cardiac status, fluid balance, and symptoms; administer and manage cardiac medications; coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams; educate patients and families on disease management; and respond

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program.
• BSN graduates preferred.
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
• BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to patients with congestive heart failure.
• Monitors cardiac status, fluid balance, and symptoms.
• Administers and manages cardiac medications.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Educates patients and families on disease management.
• Responds to acute changes to prevent decompensation and reduce readmissions.
