Responsibilities

  • Teach the assigned courses utilizing the curriculum adopted by the Board of Trustees.
  • Instruct pupils in citizenship and subject matter specified in state law, administrative regulations, and/or procedures of the school district.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, using varied instructional strategies to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize time for instruction.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluate pupils' academic growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare required reports.
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and to interpret the school program.
  • Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff in assessing and helping pupils resolve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Create an effective environment for learning, recognizing displays and bulletin boards, and enhance learning.
  • Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities.
  • Administer group standardized tests in accordance with District testing program.
  • Participate in curriculum development and the selection of resources as requested.
  • Participate in faculty committees and support pupil activities.

JOB GOAL:
