Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking three Chesapeake Gateways Ambassadors to serve at Fort Monroe National Monument in Hampton, VA. You will work with an on-site NPS supervisor, delivering visitor services, and helping connect Fort Monroe’s resources to the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

This is a full-time AmeriCorps National Service term from November 30, 2026 to November 12, 2027, covering 50 weeks with a weekly stipend of $760 and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be between 18 and 26 (or 35+ if US veteran) and a US citizen with high school diploma or GED.
• Background check required (National Sex Offender Public Registry and federal background).

Responsibilities

• Staff visitor-contact locations and provide visitor services at Fort Monroe and Chesapeake Gateways resources.
• Assist with interpretive programs, educational programs, and special events.
• Develop and deliver interpretation of Fort Monroe's cultural and natural resources for diverse visitors.
• Research and develop new interpretive programs and digital content for Chesapeake themes.
