Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking three Chesapeake Gateways Ambassadors to serve at Prince William Forest Park, VA, as part of the Appalachian Conservation Corps and NPS partnership. The role focuses on visitor services, interpretation, program development, and community engagement within the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Ambassadors work with on-site NPS supervision, participate in a regional cohort, and gain hands-on experience in digital content creation, environmental education, and outreach.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18; US citizen; HS diploma or GED; AmeriCorps service term required.
• Some college coursework in environmental science or American History.
• Experience with public speaking and visitor engagement.
• Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Co-staffing the visitor center and entrance station to engage visitors.
• Co-developing science education and interpretive programs.
• Creating and editing website and social media content to connect park stories.
• Supporting visitor-center operations, events, and outreach.
• Documenting activities and outcomes for future programming.
