Pay Range: $22.10+ BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Job Summary:

  • Performs maintenance and housekeeping services, including building, grounds, fixtures, equipment, guest rooms, and public spaces. Tasks include painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, and equipment maintenance, ensuring all facility aspects are functioning correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs work in at least two trades related to building maintenance. Maintains work logs, reports status to supervisors, and follows up on trouble calls.
  • Plumbing: Repairs sinks, faucets, toilets, tanks, urinals, and water supply components. Installs water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets, and sinks as needed.
  • Washer/Dryer Repair: Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, and replacement of hoses and fittings. Refers complex issues to supervisors.
  • HVAC: Recognizes faults and assists in repairs of HVAC units.
  • Electrical: Identifies and reports electrical issues, replacing bulbs, tubes, and ballasts as needed.
  • Carpentry: Measures, cuts, constructs, and repairs wood items, including frames, drywall, and trim.
  • Painting: Prepares surfaces and applies coatings using brushing, rolling, or spraying.

Additional responsibilities include performing various semi-skilled and unskilled tasks, following documented inspection reports, and independently completing recurring maintenance requests.

Minimum requirements include two years of experience demonstrating skills in at least two trades such as Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, or Painting, with knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working outdoors and indoors, and using PPE is required. Valid driver’s license may be needed for travel. Work hours may include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.

This position is represented by the American Federation of Government Employees, Local 22.

Experience and Education: One year of general maintenance experience; substitution of education for experience is possible. Three years of specialized maintenance experience involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs are preferred. Physical requirements include standing, bending, climbing, and lifting.
