Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in South Jersey seeks a Pharmacy Technician to accurately and timely prepare all chemotherapy medications, including IV medications, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.

You will compound IV/chemotherapy medications in a cleanroom per USP 797 and USP 800 standards, maintain organization of storage areas, and order replacement stock based on patient usage and par levels.

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy and/or IV admixture experience required.
• Chemotherapy experience preferred.

Compounds IV/chemotherapy medications in a cleanroom environment according to USP 797 and USP 800 standards.Maintain organization of storage areas/storeroom and ensures ordering replacement stock as required based on patient usage and par levels.

Experience Required

• Hospital pharmacy and/or IV admixture experience required
• Chemotherapy experience preferred

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

License/Certification Requirements

• Current NJ registration (or eligible on hire)
• Must register with the NJ Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment.
• Must complete the registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy and become an active registered Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) or greater than 10 years hospital or equivalent pharmacy experience required.
• Completion of basic pharmaceutical calculations.
