Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Cape May County seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support registered pharmacists, dispense and distribute medications, and perform sterile compounding under supervision.

Under NJ Board of Pharmacy oversight, you will handle inventory, automated cabinet restocking, medication histories, and other duties as assigned; NJ registration required within 10 days of hire and PTCB certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the NJ Board of Pharmacy.
• Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as PTCB.
• BOP registration within 10 days of hire.
• Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists to accurately dispense and distribute medications.
• Perform sterile compounding under supervision.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and restocking of automated cabinets.
• Collect medication histories.

Short Description

The Certified Pharmacy technician performs supportive duties to assist registered pharmacists to accurately and safely dispense and distribute medications. Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, certified technicians may perform sterile compounding, inventory control and ordering, restocking of automated cabinets, repackaging of medications, collection of medication histories, and other duties delegated to them.

Experience Required

• 2 year's preferred

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Associate's Degree Preferred

License/Certification Requirements

• Registration as a pharmacy technician with the NJ Board of Pharmacy
• Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as PTCB

Special Requirements

• BOP registration application within 10 days of hire
• Certification within 90 days of hire
