Job summary

The University of Miami in Hollywood, FL is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to join our patient care teams in both part-time and full-time roles. You will assess patients, plan and document care, administer medications, collaborate with physicians, and support discharge planning while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program.
• Florida Registered Nurse License.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course (can obtain before start date)

Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans to include documentation of nursing care and reports symptoms and changes in patients’ condition.
• Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses, conditions and physician orders.
• Reviews, evaluates, and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
• Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepares patients for, and assists with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Provides psychological support to patients and families while maintaining a compassionate environment.
• Safely administers medications and maintains accurate records per regulations and physician orders.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and communicates plan of care to patient, family, and care team.
• Assists with discharge planning and utilizes available resources to support patient care.
