Make a Difference in Oncology Care

Los Angeles Cancer Network is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Century City team. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey—from diagnosis through ongoing treatment and supportive care.

Our Chemo Nurses play an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and positive experience for patients and their families. We are looking for a nurse who combines strong clinical skills with exceptional patient care, communication, and compassion.

What You'll Do
  • Provide direct nursing care to oncology and hematology patients in an ambulatory infusion setting.
  • Mix and administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, hydration, injections, and other medications under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patients throughout treatment.
  • Follow all required medication administration, verification, allergy-check, billing verification, and safety procedures before medications are administered.
  • Access and draw blood from port-a-caths and PICC lines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proper use and maintenance of ambulatory infusion pumps.
  • Educate patients and families regarding chemotherapy, potential side effects, treatment expectations, and symptom management.
  • Provide emotional support and help patients maintain autonomy and independence throughout their treatment journey.
  • Encourage new chemotherapy patients and their families to utilize the See Your Chart Patient Portal.
  • Schedule chemotherapy, hydration, injections, and bone marrow procedures in the EMR.
  • Monitor Coumadin levels and provide appropriate patient education.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
  • Maintain current knowledge and competency in chemotherapy and medication administration.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education.
  • Attend nursing and team meetings to maintain professional knowledge and licensure requirements.
  • Assist the Charge Nurse with daily clinical operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Active CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong IV skills with demonstrated ability to access port-a-caths and PICC lines.
  • Previous oncology/hematology experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of oncology/hematology-specific medical terminology.
  • Basic computer, typing, and keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and the broader healthcare team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and emotional stability when caring for patients experiencing serious illness and complex medical needs.
The Ideal Candidate

You are a skilled oncology nurse who understands that excellent patient care is about more than administering treatment. You bring clinical confidence, compassion, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to every interaction.

You are comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative member of the care team. You take pride in maintaining high standards of safety and quality while helping patients and families feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout their treatment.

Compensation

The pay range is from $47.00–$65.00 per hour based on experience and educations/licensure.
