Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation is seeking a Chemix Operator in the Los Angeles area to safely manufacture polyurethane products by weighing, mixing, processing, and curing. You will manage raw materials, operate production equipment, perform in-process inspections, and keep accurate production records while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh, mix, process, cure, and handle raw materials and finished batches.
  • Operate production equipment and perform quality checks on batches.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Unload cured polymer from ovens and prepare for storage.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials and conditions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Chemix Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacture of polyurethane products through weighing, mixing, processing, curing, and handling of raw materials and finished batches. This role operates production and material-handling equipment, performs quality checks, maintains accurate production records, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

The Chemix Operator supports continuous improvement efforts, maintains a clean and organized work environment, and works collaboratively to meet production goals in a team-based manufacturing setting.

  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
  • Identify, label, and quarantine non-conforming materials.
  • Unload cured polymer from ovens and palletize for intermediate storage.
  • Complete in-process inspection of polymer batches and report non-conformances.
  • Clean liners, trays, ovens, racks, and floors as scheduled or directed.
  • Expected to cover overtime and/or openings in regular schedule to keep plant operating efficiently.
  • Follow site 5S program.
  • Ability to obtain HAZWOPER certification, on the job training provided
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Follow training progression as outlined in the plant Training and Role Matrix.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward
  • Issue maintenance work orders using SAP system.
