Job summary

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Chemistry Supervisor to build and lead the analytical and quality control laboratories at Chrysalis, our radioisotope production facility under construction in Janesville, Wisconsin. You will hire and develop the team, set department policies, and own the chemical results that support facility operations.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will establish procedures, ensure a strong safety culture, mentor chemists, and partner with QA to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
• 4+ years in industrial or radiochemistry laboratory environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Technical understanding of nuclear facility technology and operations.
• Strong communication, conflict and change management skills.

Chemistry Supervisor

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Chemistry Supervisor to build and lead the analytical and quality control laboratories at Chrysalis, our radioisotope production facility, currently under construction. This is a chance to shape a chemistry function from the ground up. You'll hire and develop the team, set the department's policies and procedures, and own the chemical results that support facility operations. The Chemistry Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is onsite in Janesville, WI.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

What You'll Do

• Champion a safe work environment and a strong safety culture across the chemistry department and laboratories.


• Develop, establish, and implement chemistry department policies, programs, and procedures.


• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analytical chemists, and take accountability for team performance and the facility's chemical results.


• Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure required activities are completed accurately.


• Determine staffing needs, and interview, hire, and train new team members.


• Develop and manage the chemistry department budget.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related technical field.


• Two (2) or more years of management or supervisory experience preferred.


• At least four (4) years of experience in an industrial or radiochemistry laboratory.


• Technical understanding of nuclear facility technology, principles, and operation.


• Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.


• Ability to work safely in an industrial and radiation environment.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Industrial laboratory setting with radiation exposure risk; you'll follow established safety precautions.


• Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and/or loud noise.


• Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day, and handling objects up to 40 pounds.


• Periodic or occasional non-standard hours and shift work, including nights and weekends.
