Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy located in Brighton, is hiring a full time Chemistry / Physics Teacher. Must have a teacher certification and DX or both endorsements a plus!

Charyl Stockwell Academy (CSA) District is a public school academy that serves approximately 1,250 students Kindergarten through High School. Since opening its doors in 1996, the CSA District has received the earned distinction as a School of Excellence due to its academic achievement, and is ranked in the top 10% of all public schools in the state of Michigan. Holding high expectations for academic performance and strong character, the CSA District is a highly competitive and desired school of choice in Livingston County. The student population of the CSA District reflects small, balanced mixed-ability classrooms, including students that are academically gifted.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Chemistry / Physics Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging lesson plans, hands-on experiments, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in chemistry and a deep understanding of best practices in science education.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Deliver curriculum that covers key concepts in chemistry, including but not limited to atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics.
• Organize and conduct laboratory experiments that align with the curriculum and safety protocols.
• Ensure that all materials and equipment are maintained and properly handled.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, labs, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
• Regular and predictable attendance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Strong understanding of chemistry concepts and ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
