Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Technology Specialist in Chemistry for its Washington, DC office, within the Intellectual Property practice. You will draft patent applications and interact with the USPTO to advance critical chemical technologies for top-tier clients.

The role requires a PhD in Chemistry with related small molecule or pharmaceutical experience and 1–3 years in patent drafting or prosecution, plus strong writing and credentials. Flexible hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or closely related field with small molecule and/or pharmaceutical experience.
• 1-3 years of patent drafting and/or prosecution experience.
• Registration before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications, including descriptions and figures.
• Correspond with the patent office regarding pending applications.
• Advise patent litigation teams based on technical expertise.
• Interview inventors about new ideas.
