Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in the Chemistry department for the Day Shift. A generous sign-on bonus ($10,000) is offered to eligible candidates, with a starting rate of $33 for entry level.

The MLS II will perform waived and non-waived testing under CLIA and supervise day-to-day laboratory operations as needed. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences and ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences required.
• ASCP certification required (BOC).
• 2 years of lab experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses and results documentation.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and instrument calibrations.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisors when needed.
• Document corrective actions for deviations from performance specs.
• Work as a cooperative team member in a fast-paced lab environment.
