The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, plus at least one year of relevant experience and certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Certification or eligibility for board certification (ASCP/AMT/NCA/ACHI or equivalent) required.
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• Ability to maintain quality control records and use laboratory equipment.
• Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results.
• Analytical skills to make quantitative and qualitative observations.
• Ability to work independently with interruptions and concurrent tasks.
• Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests on patient specimens and provides data for diagnosis, treatment or prevention.
• Maintains records and uses independent judgment to generate results within quality control standards.
• May participate in research and development activities and act as resource person for staff.
• Instructs students and staff on laboratory procedures and techniques.
• Follows standard operating procedures and supports management in procedure development.
