Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, seeks a Chemistry Technician to co-manage the stockroom and support teaching and research laboratories. You will train student workers, calibrate instruments, and collaborate with faculty and the Laboratory Manager to prepare experiments for the chemistry courses.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with at least two years of college chemistry, strong supervisory and safety skills, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and develop

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent with minimum 2 years of college chemistry.
• Experience in teaching/research labs and supervising student workers is required.
• Ability to manage a hectic, safety-focused laboratory environment and develop safe practices.

Mansioni

• Oversee the chemical stockroom with Lab Manager; manage inventory and purchasing.
• Prepare teaching laboratories; coordinate with faculty to plan and set up experiments.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments used in teaching labs.
• Supervise and evaluate student stockroom employees.
• Assume Lab Manager duties during absences; support CHO with safety protocols.
