Job summary

Mercer University in Macon is seeking a Chemistry Teaching Assistant or stockroom assistant to support laboratory instruction and lab setup. You will help with experiments, answer questions about techniques, and assist with inventory and cleaning tasks. The role requires current Mercer undergraduate status and chemistry course completion.

Pay is $11.00 per hour with potential raises with experience. Scheduled hours: 15 per week, Start date 08/17/2026 and End date 04/30/2027.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Mercer undergraduate with completed course history in the lab for which you want to TA (i.e. 1 year of Gen Chem to be a Gen Chem TA).
• For stockroom, must have completed at least 1 semester of General Chemistry.
• Pay rate: $11.00 per hour starting (pay raises with experience)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Teaching Assistant in chemistry laboratories.
• Assist professors in answering questions regarding laboratory techniques and applications.
• If working as a stockroom employee, assist in setting up labs, making solutions, keeping inventory, stocking labs, and cleaning labs.
