Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist in the Department of Chemistry to supervise undergraduates in laboratory courses and support lecture sections with instructional and administrative duties. You will prepare and grade assignments, lead review and office hours, assist with exams and demonstrations, and help maintain course materials and safety in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and grade homework assignments, quizzes, exams, papers, or laboratory assignments.
• Lead review or discussion sessions, hold walk-in office hours, and tutor students.
• Provide administrative support to instructor including grade reporting and maintaining course website.
• Assist with demonstrations, prepare laboratory materials, perform lab cleanup, and ensure safety practices.
• Assist with pre-lab lectures and take notes in class as needed.
• Other related tasks in support of undergraduate/graduate education.
