Job summary

Delaware Technical Community College is seeking an Academic Support Assistant to help prepare laboratory spaces and materials for chemistry labs, maintain safety and stock, and assist instructors during sessions. The role includes tutoring and organizing tutoring/testing services in an academic center.

The incumbent will work in laboratories and academic centers, coordinating schedules, protecting confidentiality, and supporting students with check-in/check-out processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to tutor and assist in labs and academic centers.

Responsibilities

• Set up laboratories and prepare materials and equipment; dispose of toxic waste as needed.
• Assist instructors during laboratory sessions by monitoring, scoring, and evaluating tests; administer make-up tests.
• Provide tutoring to students and deliver materials to instructors.
• Support administrative functions like course outlines, attendance policies, and lab schedules.
• Perform special projects and assist with computer programs and equipment maintenance.
