Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field and two years of full-time experience as an Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2, or equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to work evenings, with notice.
• Must have or obtain Red Cross first aid training, including CPR within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of laboratory safety practices for undergraduate instructional laboratories and stockrooms.
• Oversee laboratory preparation activities, equipment and chemical management, safety compliance programs, and hazardous waste processes.
• Provide technical and operational support to faculty teaching assistants and student employees; coordinate staffing, training and resources.
• Develop and maintain training programs and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with departmental leadership to improve instructional laboratory operations, safety practices, and instructional support services.
