Job summary

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Campus, seeks an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry Lab for Fall 2026 to teach laboratory courses across general chemistry, organic chemistry, health sciences, and forensic chemistry. The instructor will supervise weekly in-person labs and assess notebooks and reports.

The position requires a Master’s degree in chemistry and teaching experience is strongly preferred, with background check and eligibility for a 403(b) plan and state benefits.

Qualifications

• Applicants are required to hold a Master’s degree or above in chemistry or closely related field.
• Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with industrial experience are also welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach laboratory courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, the health sciences, and/or forensic chemistry.
• Guide students through the performance of weekly in-person laboratory experiments.
• Evaluate student notebooks and laboratory reports.
• Maintain and supervise a safe laboratory environment by ensuring chemicals and glassware are handled correctly, PPE is worn, and waste is cleaned up and stored properly.
