Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) for per diem, 2nd shift in Voorhees, NJ. The role requires association with a CLIA laboratory, with duties including moderate to high complexity testing, pre- and post-analytical processes, and quality control responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will have at least an externship in a CLIA lab, a bachelor's degree in laboratory science or a related field, and ASCP certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum externship in a CLIA laboratory.
• Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or biological/chemical science or related field.
• ASCP certification preferred; new graduates must pass certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity testing accurately and with minimal supervision.
• Validates results post-analytically, investigates deviations, and applies corrective action.
• Performs, reviews and documents all quality control per procedures.
• Performs pre-analytical processes including patient ID, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, verification, receipt and shipment.
• Operates, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment.
• Provides outstanding customer service with effective communication.
