Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and scientific data management across discovery, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and process chemistry. You will partner with scientists, informatics specialists, and technology stakeholders to translate complex laboratory workflows into scalable platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong chemistry domain expertise and hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or similar platforms,

Qualifications

• Expertise in medicinal or synthetic chemistry and related disciplines.
• Experience with chemistry-focused ELN and informatics platforms.
• Ability to gather requirements, configure workflows, test, and release.
• Knowledge of data governance and traceability in research data.
• Experience in pharma R&D or regulated environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, compounds, samples, inventory management, and scientific reporting processes.
• Translate workflows into user stories, specifications, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, workflow design, testing, deployment readiness, defect resolution, and user support.
• Design and optimize workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, structures, stoichiometry, and inventory tracking.
• Guide integrations with compound registration systems, inventory platforms, assay systems, and data repositories.
• Support scientific data governance, metadata management, reporting, and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including chemists, informatics specialists, validation, infrastructure, security, and product/vendor partners.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, test evidence, release notes, and platform documentation.
• Support platform modernization, migration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical and functional leadership to ELN platforms for chemistry R&D objectives.
