Osmoses Inc. seeks a highly motivated Chemistry Co-op to join its chemistry team in Cambridge.

In this laboratory role, you will work on polymer synthesis for Osmoses membrane products, collaborating with chemists, engineers, and material scientists to develop novel materials and optimize reaction chemistry. The position offers hands-on experimentation, mentorship, and opportunities for independent project work while contributing to scalable production and R&D initiatives in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry.
• Self-starter who can work creatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg when needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, chemical engineers, and material scientists to design novel polymers for membrane materials.
• Carry out organic synthesis experiments for new materials and routine in-house production.
• Analyze reaction outcomes and product mixtures to inform direction of research.
• Work with the chemistry team to scale up reactions in a rapidly growing enterprise.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and present results in weekly meetings.
• Provide input and opinions in group meetings.
• Support development of SOPs and materials for internal R&D use.
