Job summary

North Shore Medical Center, Inc. in Salem, MA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join the Mass General Brigham system. Under CLIA supervision, you will process specimens, perform tests, and report waived and non-waived results.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CLAS/Medical Technology and ASCP certification is preferred. Experience in a clinical lab (1–2 years) and the ability to multitask with attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Experience or ASCP certification preferred.
• Must meet CLIA requirements and have lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing and test reporting.
• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing is performed correctly.
• Adhere to quality control policies and instrument calibrations.
• Follow corrective action policies for out-of-spec test results.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisors as needed.
• Document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate.
