Position

Adjunct Faculty – Chemistry (District Wide). Part‑time/temporary instructor positions. No immediate openings; positions are filled on an as‑needed basis throughout the academic year.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines (lecture and lab classes).
• Be available to students outside of class and participate in required professional development.
• Maintain current knowledge of subject matter and uphold standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Keep accurate records, submit required documents, and teach all scheduled classes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry AND a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Physics, Molecular Biology, or Geochemistry; or other equivalent degree.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity toward diverse student populations.

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

• California Community College Instructor Credential in Chemistry (valid for life).
• Foreign degree evaluated by NACES or ACEI.
• Experience with community engagement and working with diverse groups.

Compensation

Compensation follows the Adjunct College Salary Schedules. Initial placement is at the first class/step until official transcripts are received.

Employment Conditions

Positions are part‑time, with variable hours. Candidates selected must submit official transcripts, a tuberculosis exam certificate, undergo live‑scan fingerprinting, and provide proof of work authorization.
